Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) on console

Game Pass games from the cloud can now be played right on your Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S console. With your Game Pass Ultimate subscription, you can now play Xbox Game Pass games from the cloud before you decide to install them. Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) on console is rolling out to 25 regions over the coming weeks, with Brazil to be added soon.

Updated volume and audio output settings

A new streamlined audio experience is now available for all Xbox consoles. The volume and audio output settings have been reorganized to make relevant settings easier to access and help optimize your audio experience.

To get started, go to Settings > Audio testing & details. You can check what your audio setup supports and reset if necessary.

New and improved color filters on Xbox Series X|S

On Xbox Series X|S, new and improved color filters make gaming easier for people with color blindness or color vision deficiency. To get started, go to Settings > Accessibility > Color filters to pick and fine-tune a color filter.

You can also turn color filters on and off from the guide in Profile & system > Quick settings without leaving the content you’re viewing.

Game accessibility tags in the Microsoft Store

Game developers can now “tag” their titles with up to 20 common accessibility features used by the Gaming & Disability Community, making it easier for you to find content that meets your needs and learn about the accessibility of games directly on your console prior to purchasing them.

As of this update, more than 325 games have added accessibility tags, including:

Microsoft Flight Simulator

Sea of Thieves

Controller firmware update

The new firmware update for the Xbox One Wireless Controller with Bluetooth support, Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, and Xbox Adaptive Controller delivers next-gen features previously available only on Xbox Series X|S controllers, including better cross-device connectivity and reduced latency.

Known fixes

This update also has fixes reducing console shutdowns and improving the stability of Xbox Series X consoles when playing titles such as NBA 2K22, FIFA 22, and Battlefield 2042. We’ll continue to work with EA to improve Battlefield 2042 stability.

Known issues

Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) on console

In-game chat audio won’t work when using a chat-only headset like the Xbox One Chat Headset during a gaming session through Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) on console.

Remote play

Some users may fail to connect when attempting to use remote play on a PC or mobile device. Restarting your console will help improve this experience.

Audio

When plugging in a mono communication headset like the Xbox One Chat Headset, players will notice that their Speaker audio settings appear disabled if any headset format other than Stereo uncompressed is selected. Audio will continue to work normally, but the Settings screen won’t allow you to modify settings until the mono communication headset is disconnected and the console is rebooted, or if the headset format is changed back to Stereo uncompressed.

Under HDMI audio, if your HDMI device supports Dolby Atmos for Home Theater and DTS:X for Home Theater, these options won’t be visible until you install the Dolby Access or DTS Sound Unbound apps respectively. To easily find and install these apps, go to Settings > General > Volume & audio output > Audio testing & details > Show me 3D spatial sound apps.

Controllers

We’ve received reports that some users’ controllers are randomly losing sync or disconnecting from the console. If you encounter this behavior, make sure to report this issue after reconnecting.

Games

Some players have reported that when returning to a Quick Resume title, their controller isn’t responding in the game. Quitting and relaunching the game will resolve this.

Guide

There’s an issue in which the audio mixer may not be adjustable.

Home

The icon for disc-based titles isn’t appearing on the dashboard for some players.

HDMI-CEC

Some players have reported that HDMI-CEC isn’t working correctly. Ensure that your TV supports HDMI-CEC and that it’s also enabled. If the issue persists, report the problem.

My games & apps

Some games might appear with an incorrect “Trial” tag in My games & apps.
